Smooth move, Barnacle.

My dog is ripping apart his favorite toy - his pillow. Yes, that's stuffing coming out of it.

Rather than let him coat my house in tiny pieces of stuffing, I took the pillow away. I was going to just throw it out, which is when I took this picture, but then he got really annoying without it, trying to play with my hands as I organized my DVDs.

So, I got an old sheet and made a makeshift pillow case for the inside pillow. I put the contraption back into the regular case, and now Barnacle is trying his hardest to rip that apart, too.

The good news is, if I flip the pillow over to the side without the hole it takes him a long time to figure out how to flip it back over.

  1. Sahara used to do that too. For a long time, I refused to buy her a pillow. But she also does that with any toy that has a squeaker in it. Luckily, she gets those out pretty quickly, so I just have stuffing on my floor for a day or two.

  2. @renee It's really annoying because if he doesn't have a pillow he gets really Effing annoying. His next pillow is going to be really cheap, that's for sure.

  3. Is it just a small pillow or is it like a big dog bed that he lays on? It's strange to me that he would want to tear apart something he lays on.

  4. @Disney Redhead It's a bed/pillow, but he doesn't really sleep on that pillow - he sleeps in his crate. He does lay on it, he just likes to play with it, cause he's a weirdo.

  5. Our big dogs do this too.. Buy a brand new pillow for them and in the matter of days it is destroyed! I wish they understood that we were just trying to make the porch or their dog houses more comfortable to sleep in/on.

  6. @Robin W. I told my husband that he's only getting cheap pillows from now on! The funny thing he spends half his time trying to rip it apart, and the other half laying on it chewing a bone. Dogs are so weird.
